Mammoth Lakes is one of the best places to go ski and ride in California.

At 11,053 feet, Mammoth is the highest summit of any California mountain. As an awesome ski spot, you’ll find it’s a popular spot in the West for winter visitors, but it’s also a year-round adventure land. If you’re interested in going in the off-season, then head to Mammoth in the fall and set your sites on amazing landscapes and an abundance of outdoor activities.

In this post, we’ll tackle one of the big questions you’ll have if you’re planning a trip to Mammoth Lakes, California: where to stay. The following hotels and resorts have some of the most comfortable amenities like outdoor pools, gas fireplaces, full kitchens, easy access, free Wi-Fi, free parking, and close proximity to Yosemite National Park. Let’s get started.

I have stayed at this hotel and did an in depth write up with unique features and tips. On my Youtube channel I have a video walk through of the hotel, room, and nearby village.

Are you looking for a resort with insane convenience? The Westin offers views of Mammoth Mountain, which means you’re only a 4-minute walk from the ski lifts themselves. At just 9 miles from Mammoth Yosemite Airport and on-site parking in a heated garage, you’ll arrive at the resort in no time at all, excited for your ski vacation.

If you book at the Westin, you’ll have access to free Wi-Fi, free parking, a pool and fitness center, and other special amenities. Note that there is a $25 daily resort fee that is charged to cover some of these conveniences.

One of the best parts of staying at the Westin Monache Resort is that you can use your Marriott Rewards if you have any. Plus, you can bring your pets with you for a comfortable and cozy stay!

Guest favorite features of this hotel include location, fully stocked kitchens, and customer service. In fact, some guests even believe it to be the nicest hotel in Mammoth. However, some more recent notes say the hotel requires updating or more in-depth cleaning, which seems to be a trend across Mammoth Lake hotels.

This hotel participates in the Marriott Bonvoy rewards program so be sure to get or redeem your points when staying here.

Aloha, and welcome. Your journey around the web has brought you here, and I’m grateful for the chance to share a bit about Hawaiʻi with you. I do my best to provide thoughtful insights on hotels, airlines, dining, and the ever-evolving travel scene in Hawaiʻi. My role? I’m the one steering the ship—quietly behind the scenes—making sure every piece of information you find here is worth your time. I grew up in Kaʻalaea on Oʻahu, surrounded by the beauty and complexity of Hawaiʻi, which shaped how I see the world and connect with it. As a native Hawaiian and someone who works in below-wing operations for Hawaiian Airlines, I’ve always been drawn to understanding the details—whether it’s about travel, culture, or the people who make it all happen. I travel extensively across the islands, seeking out what’s new, what’s changing, and what’s truly worth sharing. From the latest hotel openings to restaurant reviews and updates on travel trends, I aim to bring you accurate, first-hand insights you can trust. For a closer look, you can also find me on YouTube, where I dive deeper with visual reviews and updates. My hope is that this space helps you connect with Hawaiʻi in a meaningful way, whether it’s your first visit or your fiftieth.
