The Best Budget Hotels Near Zion National Park

A key part of planning any trip is figuring out the best place to stay. When preparing a trip to a national park like Zion National Park Utah, it’s no different! Below, I’ve put together a guide to help you find the best inexpensive lodging for your vacation.

Where Should I Search for Hotels Near Zion National Park?

As you begin researching, you’ll quickly learn that all the best accommodations for Zion National Park are located in Springdale, Utah. Springdale is located at the southern entrance of Zion, and it offers a variety of lodging options as well as restaurants, shops, and other facilities. Additionally, the Zion Visitor Center is located in Springdale, which means that most of the hikes in the park both start and end here. Here are some of the top Springdale highlights.

  • Springdale is your launching pad

The main draw to this area is Zion National Park, and as such, the small Washington County town serves to connect the tourist community with the nearby national park. In addition to having numerous hotels, restaurants, shops, etc., it also has a Zion shuttle bus that runs through it. The Springdale shuttle route has 9 stops in the town, which makes it easy to visit the National Park. If this is your home base, you won’t have to worry about any driving or parking restrictions.

Now, it should be noted that the most convenient accommodation options for National Parks are always those inside the park itself. The Zion Lodge is that option for Zion National Park, and it’s far from a budget option. This lodge is popular and expensive, and the facilities are also limited.

What’s even more important to note is that you don’t necessarily need lodging inside the park. For some national parks, it’s well worth the extra expense to pay for this lodging inside the park. This isn’t the case for Zion though because the lodging located in Springdale isn’t any less convenient. It provides the same accessibility due to the transportation along with numerous hotels and restaurants to choose from.

  • Springdale has plenty of activities for all ages

In addition to great access to Zion National Park, you can also visit any of the following attractions:

  1. Float the Virgin River
  2. Kolob Terrace
  3. Misery Gulch
  4. Bike Gooseberry Mesa
  5. Ghostly Grafton
  6. Downtown Springdale
  7. IMAX Theater
  8. O.C. Tanner Amphitheater

Feel confident that this area has more to offer than just a beautiful national park if you’re planning to stay for a week or more! Most hotels in the Springdale area also have a pool, which is a lifesaver in the summertime. If you happen to visit in colder months, then you can make use of the hot tub. This is the perfect spot for all ages to take a dip after a long day of hiking and exploring.

If you’re interested in streaming or staying connected on social media networks, then you’ll need a good Wi-Fi connection. The best way to maintain this is to stay at a Springdale hotel outside of Zion. Most Springdale hotels offer free and reliable Wi-Fi!

  • Springdale has numerous accommodations

Of course, this is probably why you’re reading this article. As noted above, Springdale has a wide variety of hotel choices at low prices. If you’re looking for the best budget hotels in Zion, they’re likely found in Springdale. We’ll expand on the full list below. Keep reading for more information!

Zion Canyon Lodge

Price: $179/night

Address: 990 Zion Park Blvd, Springdale, UT 84767

Zion Canyon Lodge is one of the best budget hotels near Zion National Park

This brand-new accommodation is the only accommodation on this list that is motel-style. Instead of entering your room from an interior hallway, you’ll enter from the outside. While this may make you a bit skeptical about its safety and its quality, let its reviews speak for themselves.

Guests report that the rooms are “huge, clean, and comfortable.” The property has “fantastic staff,” and they would “recommend it to anyone.” If that doesn’t give you confidence going into this situation, then I don’t know what will.

This lodge has awesome views in every direction, and it’s just 1.4 miles from the Zion National Park entrance. With a nearby shuttle stop, you’ll be just as accessible to the park as you would be at any other hotel on this list. a cafe sitting area

Note that this is the only hotel that we’ve featured without a pool or hot tub. If you’re looking forward to a nice swim or soak after a long day out in nature, then this may eliminate Zion Canyon Park from your preferred list of accommodations. However, if you’re a larger family looking for a space to cook your own meals, then having access to a full-size refrigerator and a well-equipped kitchen may make this your ideal space. Additionally, some rooms have a terrace, which is awesome!

While visiting Zion, we recommend booking a place to stay at one of the Springdale hotels. These are affordable options just outside the park entrance. Use the above list to help guide your search and have a great time at one of the best national parks in the United States!
