Within Marriott Bonvoy’s portfolio of 30 remarkable brands, Courtyard by Marriott, the trailblazing brand with the greatest worldwide network of hotels, reveals its modern design progression and ambitious refurbishment strategy for North America. By 2024, more than 375 of the brand’s initial generation of hotels in the United States and Canada will have undergone exterior restorations, featuring prominent displays of the redesigned Courtyard logo.

Many hotels are anticipated to upgrade their public spaces and guest rooms with new interior design. Courtyard continues to improve its complete guest experience from arrival to departure with its comprehensive property upgrades.

Courtyard is expanding improvements to include outside façade and landscape enhancements to the early generation of properties to underline the brand’s commitment to offering an improved guest experience. These upgrades, which are aimed at boosting the company’s North American portfolio, will assist in defining the modern hotel experience from arrival to check-out, as well as internal hotel innovations.

A renovated porte-cochere, reframed and repainted external surfaces, ambient lighting, new signage, and fresh landscaping are all part of the new façade, which is inspired by an elegant and basic style. It has wood tones with grey hues to represent Courtyard’s next-generation traveler’s sophisticated casual style. The hotel’s architectural components will be highlighted by landscape plants, which will provide an open, unimpeded vista.

In addition to the upgrades, Courtyard has unveiled its newest generational prototype, which has a streamlined exterior and a sophisticated yet comfortable interior design that will be adopted by hotels from previous generations. Hotel public areas are adaptable and pleasant from day to night, with a remodelled lobby, various conference rooms, and upgraded fitness centres.

When guests enter, they are greeted with a warm, wooden texture and modern lighting fixtures in an urban-inspired lobby with separate check-in desks. The Bistro Bar, a casual bar and eating location with a Classic American menu with a contemporary twist, is the lobby’s main point. At participating hotels, the freshly revised Bistro menu has classic-inspired breakfast and evening meals, as well as a complete bar with a broad variety of beer, premium wine, and unique cocktails ranging from a Black Cherry Old Fashioned to a signature margarita.

With a wide community table for casual discussion and interaction, the open environment foyer gives adequate space for guests outside their rooms. Courtyard’s trademark media pods, which each feature their own TV screen and a residential sectional sofa, provide semi-private workstations that inspire productivity when working remotely.

Increased lounge space is highlighted by wide windows in the back of the lobby, providing panoramic views of the outside courtyard, which has firepits and comfortable outdoor sitting. Courtyard’s CRATE market offers a wide variety of gourmet snacks, Bistro-to-Go sandwiches and salads, as well as necessary retail products, to keep guests fueled throughout the day.

The upgraded fitness centres at Courtyard have specialised weightlifting and stretching rooms, as well as the newest state-of-the-art workout equipment, to support today’s active lifestyles. The revamped workout facilities will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and will have a dedicated hydration station where customers can relax and recharge.

The freshly designed guest rooms at Courtyard have solid hues in a warm and neutral palette that bring tranquilly and refinement to any stay, as well as modest embellishments that add a spark of colour. Guests may relax on a modern platform bed with a luxurious upholstered headboard, lit by peaceful cove lighting that can be adjusted in-bed, as soon as they enter.

A specifically built sleeper couch with an ottoman gives a pleasant place to sit or work on, and it can also fold out into a full-sized bed for more space. The deluxe guest room at Courtyard also has a well-designed valet station with a refrigerator and coffeemaker, as well as a 55-inch TV that can be pulled out and swivelled for ideal viewing from the bed or the sofa.

Electronic locks will be installed in guest rooms at participating hotels, allowing guests to enter their rooms with a digital room key. This function is accessible on the Marriott Bonvoy Mobile App, which provides guests with a variety of interactive technological features such as mobile check-in and the opportunity to communicate service and amenity requests.

The Courtyard by Marriott is a part of the Marriott Bonvoy program, frequent guests have special privileges bestowed upon them the more they stay with the chain. With Marriott Bonvoy, guests can also qualify for status by staying a certain number of qualifying nights.

Aloha, and welcome. Your journey around the web has brought you here, and I’m grateful for the chance to share a bit about Hawaiʻi with you. I do my best to provide thoughtful insights on hotels, airlines, dining, and the ever-evolving travel scene in Hawaiʻi. My role? I’m the one steering the ship—quietly behind the scenes—making sure every piece of information you find here is worth your time. I grew up in Kaʻalaea on Oʻahu, surrounded by the beauty and complexity of Hawaiʻi, which shaped how I see the world and connect with it. As a native Hawaiian and someone who works in below-wing operations for Hawaiian Airlines, I’ve always been drawn to understanding the details—whether it’s about travel, culture, or the people who make it all happen. I travel extensively across the islands, seeking out what’s new, what’s changing, and what’s truly worth sharing. From the latest hotel openings to restaurant reviews and updates on travel trends, I aim to bring you accurate, first-hand insights you can trust. For a closer look, you can also find me on YouTube, where I dive deeper with visual reviews and updates. My hope is that this space helps you connect with Hawaiʻi in a meaningful way, whether it’s your first visit or your fiftieth.
