Hawaiian Airlines is introducing some new non-stop flights in 2024, enhancing connectivity between Hawaii and North America.
The new routes include daily flights from Salt Lake City (SLC), Utah, to Honolulu (HNL) on Oahu starting May 16, 2024.
Additionally, there will be four weekly flights from Sacramento (SMF), California, to Lihue (LIH) on Kauai beginning May 26, 2024, and three weekly flights from Sacramento to Kona (KOA) on Hawaii Island starting May 25, 2024.
A missed ski season for Salt Lake City but a lot closer to Zion National Park then Las Vegas, one of my favorite National Parks. The addition of 7 weekly flights to Sacramento is interesting.
Still looking forward to the new 787 coming online in April, they stated before it would be for long-haul flights after being put through its paces on some West Coast runs. These new routes all say A321neo but either way I will be reviewing the 787 in April from Honolulu to San Francisco.

Furthermore, Hawaiian Airlines is offering low introductory fares for the SLC to HNL route, starting at $299 one-way. This special offer is available until December 1, 2023. However, it’s important to note that these fares may not be available on all dates, and the number of seats available at this fare is limited and subject to change without notice. These fares include government taxes, fees, and carrier fees, but are non-refundable, non-transferable, and have other restrictions.
Google flights shows the best non-stop flight from Honolulu to Salt Lake City (May 15th) is on Delta at $480 so a fairly competitive price.
Let me know if these routes will be useful to you for getting to Hawai’i.
