Omni Hotels & Resorts is a collection of 50 luxury properties in North America, primarily in the US with a concentration in Texas. Properties can be found in city centers in Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York, and the hotel group has convention properties in Atlanta, Dallas, Fort Worth, Nashville and San Diego.
The Omni Hotels select guest loyalty program also has resorts in places like Cancun, Amelia Island, and Orlando in Florida, and Tucson and Scottsdale in Arizona.
It may be a small collection compared to the big hotel chains, but its Select Guest rewards program for frequent guests is similar to the programs offered by larger brands. The downside of being loyal to a chain that doesn’t have a large geographic footprint is that it may not have properties where you are traveling.
The biggest difference between Omni’s Select Guest loyalty program and other programs is that Omni does not reward you with points that are traded in for free rooms like most hotel groups.
Instead, you earn a free night for every 20 hotel nights. Platinum and Black level elite members earn double credits for each night at a qualifying rate. You can redeem your free night certificates at any Omni property.
Elite Status with Omni Hotels Select Guest Program
Omni Select Guest benefits are typical of other programs, but there are some unique perks. And like other programs, the list of benefits grows as you achieve elite status with more stays. Be sure to compare the Omni Hotels select guest program with others like Marriott Bonvoy and Hilton Honors to see if Omni’s loyalty program is a good fit for you.

Omni Elite Gold Status
You get Gold status upon enrollment, and that comes with free basic Wi-Fi, express check-in and checkout, an exclusive reservations line and the opportunity to start earning credits toward a free stay.
After your second stay you’ll also get customized room preferences including location of room, extra towels or blankets, choice of pillow type (foam, feather, memory foam or buckwheat), a sleep kit with mask and earplugs, and even a fitness kit delivered to your room if you don’t have time to go to the gym.
It also includes a daily beverage at the cafe in the morning or an evening cocktail at the bar, bottled water, turndown service, and complimentary pressing of two items of clothing a day and a free shoeshine, which are great perks for business travelers.
Omni Elite Platinum Status
You reach Platinum status after 10 stays. In addition to Gold benefits, you earn double credit towards free nights. Omni will also guarantee your room with 24-hours notice, and you’re eligible for an upgrade on check-in when available.
You’ll receive a food amenity from a local market on arrival, a free morning beverage delivered to your room, complimentary water delivered every evening with turndown service, and checkout can be extended until 3 pm.
Omni Elite Black Status
After 30 stays, you achieve Black elite status. In addition to Gold and Platinum benefits, you’ll also receive a chef-inspired snack and beverage on arrival, a double upgrade where available, and a suite when you book an award night.
At this level, you get premium Wi-Fi and guaranteed room availability as long as you book by 4 pm on the day of arrival, and you can check in as early as 9 am and stay until 6 pm on the day of your departure based on availability.
Once status is achieved you get to keep it for the remainder of the year you earned it and the following year. Omni reviews membership status at the end of December and looks at your activity for the year to determine if enough tier credits were earned to maintain status or if it needs to be upgraded or downgraded.
Conclusion
Because its unique rewards program structure is not based on points, Omni does not have a co-branded credit card that gives you a big sign-up bonus or automatic elite status, and the hotel chain does not have other partners to help achieve status or earn free nights.
Event planners can earn one award night credit towards a free night for every $1,000 spent and one tier credit towards elite status for every $10,000 contracted through the Omni Select Planner program.
Gold-level members that book an event can earn up to 40 credits per meeting, which is equal to two free nights. They also receive eight tier credits. Platinums can earn 60 award night credits and 10 tier credits per event, and Black-level members can earn up to 80 credits toward free nights and 12 tier credits for booking a meeting.
The only other way to earn status or awards is through hotel stays.
Free nights can only be earned and used at Omni Hotels & Resorts. Certificates are good for one year from the time they are earned for Gold and Platinum members, and two years for Black-level members.
If you stay at Omni properties regularly, the free night certificates are easily redeemed as they can be used at any hotel or resort in the Omni chain as long as there is availability.
Some properties have blackout dates, but you can check availability on the hotel chain’s website. You need to make a reservation before the expiration date, but it can be for a stay after the certificate expires and you can use multiple free nights for the same stay.
Bottom line: If you plan to stay at an Omni property, it’s worth signing up for the perks that come with the Omni Hotels Select Guest program. And if you do stay at Omni properties regularly, free nights can be earned after only 10 stays if you’re a Platinum of Black elite because of the double awards those members earn.
