Property

The Confidante Hyatt, is everything a guest could hope for in a modern take on the 1920s classic architectural style. Guests will find all the modern enhancements they demand, and some they didn’t. Around the property are fire pits with seating, game rooms, ping pong tables, a family and an adult pool all within the grounds of the hotel. Just outside a key card access gate is Miami beach. Included in the resort fee of the hotel is coffee and water around the hotel but if guests are looking for something a little more deluxe, they can also drop by Cafecito in the lobby.

Pools

Twin pools offer something for everyone. The inflatables around the pool aren’t just for kids as adults occupy them in their own pool as well. Loungers face the pools, the sun and the towering property with seating for more than 100. A bar and restaurant offers guests poolside service at their leisure.

Beach

The Atlantic Ocean laps the shores just outside the hotel gates. On the beach, hotel guests will find a service hut offered by the hotel. Guests can charge food and beverage to their rooms (or pay cash) as well as utilize hotel equipment like sand toys and chairs.

Suite

As a World of Hyatt Globalist member, I was upgraded to a one-bedroom suite. The suite opens to a hallway leading to the living room with a guest bathroom immediately upon entry.

Living Room

Classic furniture and loud decor make guests feel as though they have arrived to the Miami heydey of yore. Beautiful windows let in natural light and provide access to the balcony. An ornate mini-bar with a chandelier provides snacks (for a price.)

Seating allows for a large family to comfortably relax, watch TV or ride out a South Florida thunderstorm during the rainy season.

Separately from the mini-bar an advanced “Plum” machine dispenses a variety of wines by the glass.

For the convenience of visitors to the suite, a separate guest bathroom awaits them just after entering the room and accessible via the living room.

Bedroom

Keeping with the theme of the hotel, the bedroom has the style of an Art Deco property with modern appeal. Conveniently-placed outlets next to the bed make it easy to charge devices at night and keep them close to hand. Rather than a closet, our suite featured a wardrobe.

A balcony with loungers wraps around the suite. There is access from the living room and bedroom. It overlooks the pool and beach. Ashtrays give smokers an option over exiting the hotel if they so choose.

Bathroom

The master bathroom utilizes a limited but stylish vanity. A large soaking tub, premium toiletries, and separate shower deliver on the premium nature of the property.

World of Hyatt Service and Benefits

As a World of Hyatt Globalist, I enjoyed complimentary breakfast, late checkout, bonus points, and an upgrade to a suite.

During my stay, Globalists had the option of either the buffet or menu items in The Backyard restaurant.

During our multi-day stay my family tried a number of menu items. Avocado Toast, a Classic American, Oatmeal, Pancakes, and a local take on Hyatt’s famous Eggs Benedict started each of our days with full bellies. Fresh juice, coffee, and fruit were all included.

The hotel also greeted my family with chocolates in our room as a welcome amenity for being a loyal Globalist member.

Value

The Confidante Miami Beach is fairly priced at $220-240/nt for a standard room. Its location, amenities, and benefits make it a steal in low season (prices can drop by 30%) but watch out around the holidays where costs can double.

For World of Hyatt members, the property is a Category 4. Award nights cost 15,000/nt for a standard room. This provides a value of 1.4¢ to 1.6¢/point, which is below Suites and Lobbies’ valuation of 2¢/point. World of Hyatt members should carefully evaluate the cost for their stay vs. the redemption rate (15,000 points) due to the massive swings in nightly rate. During peak seasons, this is one of the best properties within the system to redeem a Category 1-4 certificate for the stay. A distinct advantage of spending points for a stay at the property is that the resort fee ($25/nt at time of publication) is waived.

What do you think? Have you stayed at The Confidante Miami Beach? How was your experience?
