Property

When arriving at the W Suzhou, you will find a modern interpretation of Suzhou’s architectural and verdant heritage. Entering the lobby, I was warmly welcomed by my ‘new family’ for the days to come.

W Suzhou Lobby

The playful yet sophisticated design of the property features contextual elements inspired by the historical gardens of Suzhou. Lakes, rocks, pavilions and gates are reinterpreted into contemporary and innovative design features.

While I spent most of my afternoon in The Den, a social space for elite members and suite guests on the 29th floor, which offers a more relaxed space for networking during the day and a happy hour with snacks and alcoholic drinks in the evening.

W Suzhou The Den

Make sure you pay a visit to Woo Bar in the evening, located in the center of the lobby. With a live DJ rising from behind the bar, great barkeepers, who seemingly were able to read my mind and an outstanding atmosphere, this is the place to be at night.

W Suzhou Woobar

Breakfast Buffet is offered on the 4th floor, with a wide selection of hot and cold dishes, fresh coffee and freshly squeezed juices. During good weather, take your plates and enjoy your morning on the outside terrace.

Suite

For the entire length of my three day stay I was upgraded to a 200sqm WOW Suite on the 30th floor, which is offering stunning views over the Jinji Lake.

The playful design that already impressed me in the public areas of the hotel, continued throughout the room. Even the guest bathroom is stunning. The overall open design features vibrant colors, art installations as room dividers and a great B&O sound system.

W Suzhou Living Room

A lot of thought was also put into the light design. Several different pre-programmed light schemes are easily changeable by the touch of one switch.

The Suite features a kitchen with a table for eight people, a lounge area with TV, a guest bathroom and a workspace in the living room.

Living Room

The Living Room of the WOW Suite is a place to connect. Separated into three main areas, the living room features a beautifully designed kitchen, with coffee maker, fridge, oven and stove and table for 8 as well as some additional seating next to the window. Though I travelled alone on this occasion, it’s the perfect place to entertain your friends, have a drink together before you head downstairs to WOO Bar or enjoy your dinner in privacy.

Separated from the dining area by an art installation is the lounge area in the center of the living room, which also offers plenty of seating, a large TV and a B&O sound system which connects easily via Bluetooth to your own phone.

Adjacent to the master bedroom is a work desk with seating for two guests. The living room is completed by a guest bathroom near the entrance.

Bedroom

The bedroom is anything else than your standard bedroom. With cabinets beautifully integrated into the wall design, indirect lighting in the ceiling and a TV cabinet featuring a sound speaker scheme, the bold design from the living room continues here. W’s signature king bed guarantees you a good night’s sleep.

The bright white marble bathroom can be entered from both sides of the bed.

Service

During my entire stay I was impressed with the service quality. Especially Mike, Sep and GM Lee made me feel like family.

Starting from the customized welcome amenities, everyone would go beyond the imaginable to make my stay special. WHATEVER, WHENEVER!

Bonvoy Member Service and Benefits

W offers as a welcome gift either free breakfast for 2 or 1000 bonus points. I’ve chosen breakfast this time. Also, as an elite member, you will have access to The Den on 29th floor.

Snacks and beverages are offered here from 10AM to 10PM for free, during happy hour a selection of snacks and alcoholic beverages is nicely presented.

Value

Room rates usually start at about 200$ and are redeemable for 30000 points, valuing the points at about 0.6$

What do you think? Have you stayed at the W Suzhou? How was your experience?
