If you are in Waikiki for the holidays and wondering where all the Waikiki hotel Christmas trees are at? Then this is the list for you.
I took a half-day stroll along Kalakaua Ave., from the zoo down to the Hilton Hawaiian Village, just to see what kind of Christmas decorations the hotels had up on display. If you are looking for some of the best Hawaiian Christmas ornaments to take back home like most visitors, take a look here.
I was impressed with several and have my favorite in the conclusion below, share yours in the comments if you can.
In the end, I liked them all, from the grand 12-foot trees to the desktop Peanuts variety, they all have their place.
The Royal Hawaiian, A Luxury Collection Hotel
You and I both knew it would be pink and the Royal Hawaiian delivered. I reviewed this hotel recently and they consistently deliver on style and service. I recommend you take the time to stop by and walk the halls to view the Christmas trees, even better in the evening.
Sheraton Waikiki Hotel
The Sheraton Waikiki is my top pick for a family hotel in Waikiki after doing a full review recently. They are known for their sand sculptures year round and didn’t disappoint with Santa and his helpers at the entrance.
Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach Resort
I was quite impressed with the Outrigger Reef display. Using the outrigger canoe to display decorations at the entrance and the well-designed decorations made this my favorite of all the Waikiki hotel Christmas trees. The shells in the tree along with the double-hull canoe and paddles were very well done.
Moana Surfrider, A Westin Resort and Spa
The first lady of Waikiki never disappoints and the elegant Christmas tree below the banisters in the historic wing was beautiful. I like how they used the space between the escalators as well although I wasn’t a fan of the bare silver tree near the tower entrance. What do you think?
I stayed here recently and reviewed the entire property, one of the best beach frontages in Waikiki.
Hyatt Regency Waikiki
I really enjoyed the deep blue aquatic theme at the Hyatt Regency Waikiki. Paired with the cascading waterfall between the towers and it really gave off an underwater vibe. Several walls were draped with lights and I imagine it really pops at night. I was really impressed with this layout.
‘Alohilani Resort Waikiki Beach
The ‘Alohilani Resort had two well-done trees near the check-in desk, elegant and well-designed they provided the perfect touch for the holidays. With the snow white backdrop of the curtains and the impressive wall (behind the check-in desk) design, it gave off a white winter feeling.
Halekulani Hotel
The Halekulani Hotel is rich in history and arguably the best luxury hotel on Oahu. Walking in past the fountain area you are greeted with four trees and a wonderful wreath. All leading you onto the well-maintained grounds.
I will not forget my stay here where I was fortunate enough to review this hotel as well as Sunday brunch at Orchids, amazing!
Trump International Hotel Waikiki
Traditional red and green with gold accents made this tree present very well a the Trump Hotel. The lit gifts below the tree and the smartly designed wreath over the fireplace pulled everything together nicely.
Laylow Waikiki, An Autograph Collection Hotel
The Laylow Waikiki is a fan favorite and as an Autograph Collection Hotel it is one of mine as well. A simple tree greets you as you make it to the top of the escalator along with some trimmings throughout the lobby.
I enjoyed the shave ice when I reviewed this hotel a while back. Red, green, and gold-colored flavors would be the perfect match.
Sheraton Princess Kaiulani Hotel
A truly grand Waikiki hotel Christmas tree resided in this lobby. They had several other trees throughout the property along with garlands draped along the pillars. Very well done.
Right across the street from the Moana Surfrider I remember what a hidden gem this hotel is when I stayed here for a full review. The location is perfect for all of Waikiki.
Hyatt Place Waikiki Beach
A tall and fully decorated, someone had fun with this tree, just off the lobby at Hyatt Place Waikiki Beach.
Espacio The Jewel Of Waikiki
This hidden gem of a hotel made my list of the best luxury hotels on Oahu. I haven’t stayed here yet because of the price, tooooo steep for me. I did feel the tree reflected the style and price point for the hotel, fully loaded.
If you have stayed at the Espacio let me know your thought in the comments.
Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort & Spa
I have stayed at this hotel and did a full tour and review from the ground up. I forgot to head up to the amazing pool deck to see if they had a tree up there but I think this one down by the lobby was quite impressive.
Waikiki Circle Hotel
I love when even the little hotels put something up, not just the big international brands. If you have been to this lobby you know space is at a premium and a thin tree like this is a perfect match.
The Waikiki Circle Hotel has a Waikiki breakfast favorite right at its doorstep, Eggs N Things, get there early and bring your patience.
The Imperial Hawaii Resort
One of the more unique designs I saw reflected a Hawaiian design that took me back a few years (decades maybe?), as I get older I appreciate these reminders and reflections.
The Imperial Hawaii Resort is tucked in near the Halekulani and in the center of it all.
Hilton Garden Inn Waikiki
Center stage in the lobby of the Hilton Garden Inn made this a great visual treat for those checking in. With seats all around I can imagine hot todys and cocoa would be perfect.
Vive Hotel Waikiki
With several holiday touches throughout the lobby and seating area the Vive Hotel Waikiki did a great job of making things bright. The concierge desk, sorry I missed the photo, was also decked out nicely.
So my top 3 picks are the Royal Hawaiian Hotel, Outrigger Reef, and Hyatt Regency. If I had to pick one it would be the Outrigger Reef Hotel, just really well done with a respectful nod to the history of Hawaii. Which one is yours?
